ASCRS Foundation’s Robert Sinskey Institute Needs Diagnostic Equipment

Additional diagnostic equipment is needed for the ASCRS Foundation’s Robert Sinskey Eye Institute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Sinskey Eye Institute is the foundation’s lead humanitarian project, and will treat over 12,000 patients this year – a 20% increase over 2010. With the ever-increasing patient volume has come the need to replace some older and non-functioning equipment. The foundation is appealing directly to ASCRS members for tax-deductible donations of used, but still reliable, equipment.

Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) # 39783

If you are employed by the federal governement (including military) or employed by a federal contractor, you may participate in the Combined Federal Campaign payroll deduction plan. You can only choose to donate through payroll deduction during the open season that starts every year on September 1. Get with your HR person and fill out the form, including the ASCRS Foundation's CFC #: 39783. Don't know how much to donate, here's some math: $5 per payroll period = $130 per year, while $10 per payroll period = $260 per year and so on.

Individual Donation

An Individual Donation allows you to participate directly in the foundation’s work to improve the public’s understanding of ophthalmology, support new research, or provide care to the world’s underserved. Donors can earmark their contributions for specific areas of the foundation’s work. The ASCRS Foundation can accept contributions of cash, donated securities, donor-advised funds, or willed gifts. All donations to the ASCRS Foundation are 100% tax-deductible.

In Memoriam Donation

An In Memoriam Donation allows you recognize a colleague, friend, or mentor through a gift that works for the betterment of ophthalmology. Tax-deductible donations of cash, donated securities, donor-advised funds, or willed gifts are accepted.

The ASCRS Foundation relies heavily on its corporate partners for the funding to support its public awareness, research, and humanitarian programs.
