As part of ASCRS Foundation’s ongoing Public Awareness/Education initiatives its Eye Surgery Education Council (ESEC) provides accurate and unbiased information about ophthalmic surgical options at www.eyesurgeryeducation.org. The ESEC works to properly educate both the public and the press about cataract and refractive surgery, and to counterbalance much of the marginalized and agenda-driven material that now clutters the web. ASCRS members are able to make the ESEC site part of their own web presence through a unique “cut out” feature that personalizes the site for individual practices.
